Weekly Memory Verse

"When pride comes, then dishonor.
But with the humble is wisdom."
Proverbs 11:2

These words that the Lord has given are truly remarkable. Losing your life to find it. Giving the Lord and others credit before taking it for yourself. Being a person of honor. Recognizing pride immediately and repenting. Asking the Lord for wisdom. When others around you seem to be fighting to make something out of themselves it can be overwhelmingly difficult to remain steadfast in your obedience to the Father. That if He wants something for you - He'll give it. Its just that simple. We won't have to plow ahead, bringing attention to ourselves or what "we've" done. We won't need to find significance in people knowing who we are or receiving their approval. If we remain faithful to His calling of a humble, honorable life of death to self and sin, then all things that are good and perfect will be ours. And after all, "things" aren't really good and perfect.... He is. He is our reward. He is our blessing. He is our very existence. He is capable. He is Sovereign. He chooses who will rise and who will fall. Whatever the Lord is doing in our lives, it is good and perfect because "HE" is doing it.

The Lord blesses us with Himself and we are absolutely nothing without THAT blessing.

Lord, help me receive your truth and obey - even when it is really difficult. We are helpless without your daily salvation.

What a GREAT verse!! Pride is one of those things we never see coming then BAM it has taken over your entire extistence. Having to die to self and give everything you are to God causes great humility. Our purpose here is absolute obedience to God. When we are not obedient it is very evident to those around us. Pride sets in and like a truck stuck in the mud, you keep spinning and spinning those wheels but without repentence and obedience to the Father you will just get deeper, and deeper in sin fulfilling yourself with the desires of the flesh rather than the desires of the Almighty One. Having experience with this makes me EXTREMELY grateful that my God loves me so much He sent true friends that hold me accountable for the pride that was suffocating me. Our significance is only in the Mighty Father who sent His only son to take on the punishment for our sins. When we continue to be prideful so much that we refuse to admit who we have become we are telling others and God we don't need Jesus because WE seem to know better. You can say you are saved and a true believer of Christ but are you? What do people see when they see you? Are you so filled with pride you'd rather please the world instead of God? I pray everyday that when pride sets in that God just RIPS it out of me no matter how much suffering much come with it. Afterall we will NEVER know true suffering or sacrifice. JESUS came to take our place so that WE could spend eternal life with GOD......
