The Seeker Sensitive Movement

Second Timothy 4:3-4 says, "For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires, and will turn away their ears from the truth and will turn aside to myths ."

I wonder how many churches are doing exactly what Timothy was telling them not to do? 2 Timothy 4:2 "PREACH THE WORD; BE READY IN SEASON AND OUT OF SEASON; REPROVE, REBUKE, EXHORT, WITH GREAT PATIENCE AND INSTRUCTION." Pray with me that pastors will not waste their pulpits by relying on their own crafty opinions about what might tickle the ears/eyes/senses of their seeker congregations but that they will trust the Lord will all of their hearts, souls, minds and strength. That His Word is more powerful than anything else in the universe. By it men are saved, it does not go out and return void but accomplishes all that the Lord desires and wills for it to do. (Isaiah 55:11) By His Holy Spirit will unbelievers be brought to repentance not by our cleverness of speech, so that the cross of Christ would be made void. (1 Corinthians 1:17).
